Scarborough! Skegness! Mablethorpe! Hunstanton! Holidays guaranteed to haunt!

K8 Telephone Kiosk, Outney Common Caravan Park, near Ditchingham, Norfolk. It took me a while to find an example of a K8 Kiosk, apparently they are rather rare now, most having been replaced by more modern kiosks or removed altogether. I remember them being very common when I was small, even at starting-school age I realised they were ‘modern’, which was why my parents and grandparents didn’t like them. I didn’t mind them from the outside, but they seemed smaller than the more traditional K6s. K8s always seemed to be found in locations when we were on holiday, I remember countless times being crammed into one with my sister, when my mother took us with her to phone my grandmother to tell her we’d arrived at our holiday destination safely. I also remember the single large glass panes would make it unbearably hot very quickly.
